Michael Carpenter

I am an elder at Reformation Christian Fellowship (RCF) in Newport News, Virginia. We are a Reformed Baptist congregation committed to the authority, inerrancy, and sufficiency of the Bible. I am bound by the RCF Statement of Faith.

I oversee theological education and have written multiple courses for RCF on topics such as eschatology, the person and work of Christ, the atonement, and the doctrine of sin.

I am committed to the local church and encourage all believers in Christ to be a vital part of a local church that proclaims the Gospel and is faithful to Scripture.

I grew up a Southern Baptist and was faithful in serving in the church but I was not growing. In my early twenties the Lord placed within me a hunger to know him better through the study of his Word. Along with that was a desire to teach the Bible. During this time I abandoned dispensationalism and eventually was convicted of the truth of Reformed theology.

I have been married for 37 years to my wife, and I am a father of three and grandfather of six.
